Did you know Kingston Toy Library is not Council run?
Kingston Toy Library is a not-for-profit incorporated association, owned by our members (that's you!), and is overseen by a member committee. The Committee meets monthly to govern all toy library operations with the assistance of our wonderful librarian, Catherine.
Our committee comes from all areas of the community with a diverse set of skills and interests, all with a common desire to improve the Kingston Toy Library service for all.
In 2022 a number of long-standing committee members deservedly hung up their hats, and now we have a number of great roles available.
Without member volunteers on the Toy Library committee, sadly, under law, the library will need to close.
These roles require a commitment of 3-5 hours a month (done from home!) - which more than meets your duty levy requirement, and also come with a great range of additional benefits including committee membership price, half-price party packs, extended loan period, not to mention it looks great on your resume!
Roles Available and their primary duties:
Secretary: Document agenda and minutes for the monthly committee meeting, participate in decision-making as an Executive committee member.
Marketing Coordinator: Develop and drive the library's marketing strategy.
General Committee: provide support to other committee members as required, e.g. reviewing policies, assist in the application of funding grants.
